Ms. Lynn Badler (Retired K-12 Teacher): As a former candidate for Congress and other smaller positions in Utah I recognize an honest, clear-speaking candidate who will be an excellent auditor for Summit County. There are few politicians who speak the truth and do as they say they will. Thankfully Gary is not a politician but an experienced businessman who knows how to be responsible to the voters. I am pleased to endorse him.

Ms. Amy Yost (GOP Candidate for Summit County Treasurer): I know Gary Shumway to be an upright citizen of our community who cares deeply about the ideals in our US Constitution. He is well educated and qualified in many different aspects that will help him be the best person as the Summit County Auditor. His knowledge and integrity will help enable him to do what is best for the citizens' of the county, and the county itself.


Today (9/25) at the Summit County Republican Women's Club luncheon, Dave Ure passed me an Abe Lincoln as his donation to my campaign. Though not endorsing me, Dave did loosen his pocket book strings and I will now be able to pay for 34 more brochures. Thank you, Dave.

Observation: Each election cycle is a bit different in various ways. This election cycle endorsements are very difficult to come by, either somebody done our current elected officials wrong or they are running timid to endorse, even when they endorsed me 4 years ago. No, I have not done anything to not warrant their current endorsement. When elected Auditor and if someone should ask me for an endorsement, unless I know them personally, I will research their background and principles and give an endorsement if warranted. Anyone claiming I have endorsed them when I haven't will be publicly reprimanded. I am more than happy to assist others with similar political principles, i.e., in a nutshell, constitutionalists, smaller government, more liberty, we are elected to serve the people, not to make a career out of it by acting like politicians.
