My use of the term 'gang of four' in a Park Record comment regarding Summit County Council candidates' financial reports

In delving further into the Summit County Council candidates' financial reports as reported in the Park Record, I used the term 'gang of four' to describe four of the five Democrat candidates, i.e., Elliott, McMullin, Hanrahan, and Robinson as having somewhat equivalent campaign contributions. That is, the exclusion of Weinstein from those contributions, particularly from the Summit County Democrat Party.

Apparently, based on comments to my comment of the article, there is need for clarification.

The term 'gang of four', as used in my initial comment and in my 'Park Record tells only part of the Summit County Council campaign donations story' post, has no relationship to the Chinese 'The Gang of Four' (as per Wikipedia):
"The Gang of Four was the name given to a leftist political faction composed of four Chinese Communist party officials. They came to prominence during the Cultural Revolution (1966-76) and were subsequently charged with a series of treasonous crimes. The members consisted of Jiang Qing, Mao's last wife and the leading figure of the group, and her close associates Zhang Chunqiao, Yao Wenyuan and Wang Hongwen."

The term, as I used it, was my attempt to succinctly describe the four Democrat candidates who received a donation from the Summit County Democrat Party and other substantial donations, whereas Weinstein (D) did not.

The term gang as used in the original post means (as per www.dictionary.com ): "a group of persons working together; squad; shift: a gang of laborers."

Obviously, the use of the term has nothing to do with the Chinese 'The Gang of Four'. To those who, themselves, made the analogy, I say the Chinese 'The Gang of Four' was thirty years ago, get over it.

To the Democrats I lumped together as the 'gang of four', i.e., Elliott, McMullin, Hanrahan, and Robinson, I apologize to you for any misconstrued associations with the Chinese 'The Gang of Four'. Obviously there was NO similarity meant, other than four individuals working together toward their common goal, i.e., campaign funding.
